What this notice covers
This notice describes information handled in connection with STOCKS.HELP. The current-operation section distinguishes the version available here from possible future features. Personal information can include an IP address, online identifier or device-linked activity; it is not limited to a person’s name or email address.
Current operation
This version provides reading materials and practice questions without an account, newsletter sign-up or checkout. It does not ask you to submit your portfolio, income or financial goals.
Reading progress and preferences
Your theme preference and learning record are stored in this browser when storage is available. Learning progress saves automatically in IndexedDB when the required browser features are available. An older learning record in localStorage is imported on the first successful save; its original bytes stay there until you reset the record. The learning record includes read marks, the place to resume, questions already explained, and up to 100 recent incorrect answers with the associated lesson, option and time. It is not an assessment of your financial circumstances.
This version does not synchronise that learning record to an account or server. It remains until you reset it, clear the site's browser data or the browser removes it. Resetting your learning record clears learning data in IndexedDB and the retained localStorage record, leaving small reset markers to prevent older open tabs from restoring progress; clearing all site data also removes the saved theme. With the required storage features unavailable, the interface can keep temporary state in memory for the open page. An unreadable database or a database from a newer version may require clearing site data through browser controls; the site will not overwrite an unknown storage format. Clearing all site data also removes theme and terms preferences.
Acceptance of site terms
The notice does not block reading or using the site. It remains visible until you select “I agree”, which saves the version of the documents you accepted in localStorage. The application does not send this acknowledgement to a server or attach your identity or a timestamp. Acceptance remains until replaced by acceptance of a new version, you clear the site's browser data or the browser removes it. Resetting your learning record does not remove it. If storage is unavailable, acceptance lasts only for the open page and the notice can appear again when you navigate.
This acknowledgement does not enable advertising or tracking, subscribe you to marketing, or give consent to optional personal-data processing.
Search and sharing
The application searches a prebuilt index served with the site. It does not send the words you type to a separate search provider. Hosting services still receive the requests needed to load pages and search files. Copy and Share use the content shown in the share preview; the application does not add your private learning record to it. An app you choose to share with handles that content under its own terms.
Audience measurement and recording
This version loads audience-measurement code. It can send page addresses, referrers, browser/device information and supported interaction events to the analytics service. Network requests also expose request information to the receiving infrastructure. Do not treat this as a promise that all measurement data is anonymous.
This version also loads session-recording code, which can capture page content and interactions. A recording is different from an aggregate visit count and may contain information visible on a page.
Page delivery and operational information
Hosting and delivery services receive information needed to answer a request, such as an IP address, requested address, time and browser information. This is separate from the learning record held in your browser. Operational and security logs can contain request information; their retention depends on the hosting configuration.
Purposes and service providers
Information is used to deliver requested pages and features, keep the site working, preserve the preferences you choose, troubleshoot faults, protect against misuse and handle communications. Optional audience measurement has the separate purpose of understanding use of the resource. It does not require you to submit a financial profile.
Providers involved in hosting, network delivery, security and, when used, measurement or communications can process the information needed for their role. A provider may act on the project’s instructions or have separate responsibilities for its own processing. An external site you choose to visit has its own privacy practices.
Where applicable data-protection law requires a lawful basis, processing must have one. Necessary operations and security can involve legitimate interests, subject to the required assessment; consent is required for processing where the applicable rules require it. A description in this notice is not itself consent. A new function may need a different basis and information before it starts.
Communications
If you contact the project, the message, your contact address and any information you choose to include are handled to understand and respond to the matter. Email delivery providers also process the message. A privacy request or ordinary enquiry is not a newsletter subscription.
Please send only what is needed for the issue. The resource does not need account credentials, identity-document copies or a complete financial history to receive an ordinary correction or enquiry. Where identity verification is legally necessary for a request, it should be proportionate to that request.
Retention and international processing
Browser-held records follow the controls described above. Other information should be retained only for the purpose for which it is needed, applicable legal obligations and the handling of a relevant dispute or security incident. The appropriate period depends on the information, its purpose and the configured service; browser settings do not delete hosting logs or messages already sent.
Hosting, delivery and other service providers may operate in more than one country. Any international transfer of personal information must meet the requirements that apply to that transfer, including an applicable adequacy arrangement, appropriate safeguards or another lawful mechanism where required. This notice does not authorise unrestricted transfers or waive protections. Contact the project about the arrangements relevant to your request.
Future accounts, services and funding
The resource may develop accounts, server-side storage, synchronisation, newsletters, advertising, affiliate arrangements or paid features. Information for a future feature could be stored on the project’s systems or processed by external providers. There is no commitment that information will always remain solely on your device.
Those possibilities do not mean they are all active, and do not permit collecting information for unspecified purposes. Before a materially different use begins, the relevant notice must describe the information, purposes, recipients, retention and other required details, with any necessary choice or consent. Paid access, email marketing and advertising identifiers may require separate arrangements.
Choices and applicable rights
You can use browser controls to remove stored site data. The site’s reading controls let you reset the learning record. Blocking storage can prevent preferences and progress from persisting. These actions do not necessarily stop network requests needed to serve the site.
Depending on the applicable law and processing, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy, withdraw consent and complain to the relevant supervisory authority. Withdrawal does not change the lawfulness of earlier processing based on consent. These rights and their exceptions depend on the circumstances.
Use the project contact below for a privacy request. Describe the information or interaction concerned; locally stored learning records are not automatically accessible to the project. Do not send sensitive documents unless they are necessary and an appropriate route has been agreed.
Changes to this notice
The date above identifies the editorial version. The current-operation section also reflects the settings used to build this version of the site. A change in technology does not automatically change the purpose of processing, but a material change in use can require an updated notice and further action before processing starts.
